Steel beam lifting questions

How heavy a steel beam can you lift?
Up to 2.98 tonnes with the Maeda 305 at close radius — capacity reduces as the reach gets longer, which is why we check every beam against the load chart at your actual setup distance before quoting. Send the beam schedule and we’ll confirm machine and price in one call.
Can you get a beam to the back of the house?
Almost always — either over the roofline with the 305’s 12.5 m of hook height, or through the building: the tracked carrier walks the beam in at 780 mm wide and the crane lifts it into position at the other end. Powerlines out front don’t stop the job.
Do you work in with our builder and fabricator?
Yes — that’s the normal flow. We take the shop drawings or beam schedule from your fabricator, coordinate delivery timing with your builder, and hold each beam in place while the crew fixes it off. One less trade for you to conduct.
What does steel beam lifting cost?
Crane hire runs from $195 per hour plus GST with the operator included and a 6-hour site minimum; most single-beam residential lifts fit comfortably inside a minimum booking. Access and beam count drive the price — our pricing guide explains how we quote.
