Glassboy 600

aka “the gentle hands” — glass lifter hire, Sydney + Central Coast

A below-the-hook vacuum lifter that grips up to 600 kg of glass, stone, cladding or insulated panel and places it within millimetres. It hangs off one of our spider cranes, the panel rotates and tilts in the air — not in someone’s hands — and a dual vacuum system with alarms keeps it there.

Why glaziers ask for it

Two vacuum circuits. Zero white knuckles.

The Glassboy runs a dual vacuum system with audible and visual alarms — if a circuit ever loses suction, the second holds the panel and the alarm sounds long before anything moves. That’s the difference between craning glass and hoping.

In the air, the panel rotates a full 360° and tilts to 90° — so a sheet that travelled flat can arrive vertical, lined up on its gasket, without a hand ever taking the weight.

The short lifting lug keeps the whole rig compact, which is how it sets big panels under low ceilings and awnings — the jobs where a taller lifter simply doesn’t fit.

The Glassboy hangs below the crane hook, so it’s hired together with one of our spider cranes — the flat fee covers the lifter for the day, with our operator running the lift. Glass, marble, stone, cladding and insulated panels all ride the same way.
