Crawler Crane Hire Sydney

Maeda 285 & 305 mini crawler cranes — tracked, low ground pressure, and built for heavy lifts on soft, sloped or tight-access sites.

What is a mini crawler crane? A mini crawler crane is a compact crane that moves on rubber tracks instead of wheels, giving it low ground pressure and excellent grip on soft, sloped or uneven ground. Parramatta Cranes hires two Maeda mini crawler cranes — the 285 and 305 — with ticketed operators across Sydney and the Central Coast, 24/7. Call 0434 242 777.

The tracked base is the whole point of a crawler crane. Where a wheeled or truck-mounted crane would sink, slip or need packing, a mini crawler spreads its weight and drives straight onto lawns, sand, slopes and rough terrain — then lifts heavy loads with a stable, compact footprint.

Why choose a tracked crawler crane

Low ground pressure

Tracks spread the load, protecting lawns and soft ground and reducing the need for heavy packing.

Climbs & grips

Handles slopes, driveways and uneven terrain that stop wheeled cranes — ramps and mats extend the reach.

Compact & stable

Narrow track width plus outrigger legs = a stable base in confined spaces.

Heavy for its size

Up to 2.98 t and 12.5 m of height from a machine that fits down the side of a house.

Pair it with a tracked carrier

For long, tight sites we run the crawler crane alongside our tracked carrier — the carrier moves steel and materials in through the narrow access, then the crane lifts them precisely into place.

What our crawler cranes lift

  • Structural steel beams and erection on tight sites
  • Glass and facade panels with a glass lifter
  • Pool shells, spas and landscaping materials
  • Plant, machinery and air-con onto roofs and slabs
  • General tight access and confined-space lifting

Frequently asked questions

Do mini crawler cranes work on soft ground?

Yes. Their tracked base gives low ground pressure, so they spread weight far better than a wheeled crane — ideal for lawns, sand and landscaped areas. We also carry bog mats and timbers to protect surfaces or spread load further.

How wide are your crawler cranes?

The Maeda 285 is just 750 mm wide — through standard doorways and side gates. The Maeda 305 is 1,280 mm wide, still compact but with more capacity and reach.

How much can a mini crawler crane lift?

The Maeda 285 lifts up to 2.82 t (8.7 m height, 8.2 m radius). The Maeda 305 lifts up to 2.98 t (12.5 m height, 12.16 m radius) for heavier and higher work.

Do you supply operators and riggers?

Yes — every crawler crane hire includes a licensed, insured operator, plus riggers and dogmen where the lift needs them.

How much does crawler crane hire cost in Sydney?

It depends on crane size, site conditions and duration, with hourly, daily and long-term rates available. See our pricing guide or send site photos for an exact quote.
